Both RAC teams won, but I managed to contribute only a heartbreaking loss.

I reached the following position on board 3 against Bokros,I(2120) as white and was calmly looking forward to a win based on the offside Nh4 and a massive kingside attack. Now 23.gh! is best but many wins are possible. I went with 23.Qg4 which should still win but by some kind of black magic did not.

The game slipped into an ending but white was still winning. After 28..f6 I should have played 29.Ne6 and black does not have a good move. For example 29..Rd7 30.e5!!(clearing e4 for Ne4) de 31.Ne4.

Final Ranking after 6 Rounds

Feher,Juhasz and Mezei tied for first with 5/6 in a tough weekend battle. Kokeny,Norbert finished a great tournament with 4.5/6 and a 2180 performance. He was unlucky not to win against Bodi with an extra pawn and an exchange. The game was eventually drawn.

I won a book for getting 4/6(5 games played as I missed rd1) as the top under 2000 which everyone had a good laugh about as the book was in Hungarian.

Standings
Kokeny Norbert Adrian is killing the field with a perfect 4/4. I missed rd1 and won all three games for 3/4 today. This is very strong field for an <2200 weekender. I am seeded #14 and am having a great time as usual.

Varga continued his run of fantastic results taking equal first with Piroska with 6.5/9. IM To was a solid third with 6/9.

Results and Final Standings
Orfei, Rolando took clear first with 7.5/9. I shared second with Kalmar, Karoly with 6.5/9 but we both played only 8 games.
I managed to win an equal RR-RR ending against Sulcz in the dramatic last round.

The Torokves Open and RR is held twice a year and is one of the hidden little gems of Hungarian chess. I paid a very modest 4800HUF(16EUR.22/USD) for 9 rounds of FIDE rated chess (90mins+30sec increments). The tournament had their foreign players including myself, all Budapest residents.

As usual, the Open was very casual and friendly as I was able to participate in some of the analysis now that my Hungarian skills have improved a bit.

Now 46..Rb1 allowed me to win the b-pawn and eventually game.

Standings and Results

Orfei{ITA} is back in the lead with 6.5 with a quick win from a Vienna game. I also won quickly against Bege,V. Sulcz moves up to clear second with 6/9 after winning with black in a Closed Sicilian against Kalmar,K.

In my game I got a nice lead in development and the center to arrive at the following position.

Kalmar,K managed to beat Orfei and now they share the lead with 5.5/7.  I won quickly and now have 4.5/7.

I played aggressively and somewhat carelessly, giving up the d-pawn and meeting ..Bb4+ with Kf1!? for a sharp game. Here is the finish.
