Hungarian junior Peczely,S faced the solid Caro-Kann in rd2 and was slowly outplayed with an uncommon line in the 4..Bf5 variation. Black played the under the radar 12…a5!?(diagram) and played to massage down the queenside.

White fought back to an equal position only to blunder but the real value of the game is unearthing the 12…a5!? continuation.

Hungarian junior Sebastian Peczely collected a GM scalp at the Karpos Open in rd1. GM Malakhatko,V took some liberties in the opening and was punished in style. However, Peczely had to win the game twice after letting the GM off the hook.
