Nemeth Miklos took clear first with 5.5/6.

Well done!!

This tournament proved to be tough going starting with my first round loss. I was unable to make the most from several good positions and had to save a couple of bad ones.

Rd6 Konya-Yip

I misplayed a new opening horribly but with a bit of luck found myself in this positions after 35.Bc1(diagram)

After a bit of a think came 35..b4 36.cb c3!(diagram)

After 36..c3

It looks like Black has overreached as White played 37.Bb3 but I had seen this and came up with the planned 37..cb!(diagram)

After 37..cb

White has no time to gobble up the rook. Then came 38.Bxd5+ Kf8(diagram)

After 37..Kf8

The best White can do is 39.Bxb2 Rxb2 and Black won with no trouble.
