BTCh 6-Board 2015-16 Rd4
MTK 2.5-Hort SE 3.5
I contributed a win but MTK suffered defeat.
Board 6 Yip,M-Koczan,K
I went for the big attack on the White side of a Rubinstein Nimzo-Indian.
After 39…Qxf5(Diagram)
Now I was poised to break open the position with the e5-e6 break but thought the rook should be attacking something as the d6 pawn was already protected.
After 39,,Qxf5
The immediate 40.e6 decides right away but I went for the slower 40.Bc4 intending Rf1-f4 or Rf6 increasing the pressure, leaving the decision to play the e6 break to later.
Some pics.

Board 2 Halas,Z-Yip
The opening went horribly for me but by some trickery and luck I escaped from a dead lost game to a winning endgame….but still could not convert and had to concede a tough draw.

Black had the win the 37..Rxf6 but played 37..Qxf6? Presumably the action took place in a time scramble.

EU TCh Press Conference Nov 10-2015
The Hungarian National Teams held a press conference at the Hungarian Chess Federation before the teams departed.
Each team member spoke briefly and answered questions from the gallery.
There was a little girl in the ceremony who received a cake but I was not sure what for. GM Judit Polgar was also part of the team delegation.
The players seemed in good spirits and the mood was very positive.
A nice lunch was provided.

Team IM Szabolcsi,J did the thankless task of organizing the team and snacks and made the extra effort of collecting and returning phones-Big thank you!

I gave a short pep talk before the match which got a small chuckle.
I contributed a draw after failing to capitalize on an accidental pawn sacrifice in the opening.

Here White should have played 15.Rfd1! with good compensation but went for the more human 15.Bc3
